We skipped the light fandango Turned cartwheels 'cross the floor I was feeling kinda seasick But the crowd called out for more The room was humming harder As the ceiling flew away When we called out for another drink The waiter brought a tray And so it was that later As the miller told his tale That her face, at first just ghostly Turned a whiter shade of pale She said, there is no reason And the truth is plain to see But I wandered through my playing cards And would not let her be One of sixteen vestal virgins Who were leaving for the coast And although my eyes were open They might have just as well've been closed And so it was that later As the miller told his tale That her face at first just ghostly Turned a whiter shade of pale She said, 'I'm home on shore leave,' Though in truth we were at sea So I took her by the looking glass And forced her to agree Saying, 'You must be the mermaid Who took Neptune for a ride.' But she smiled at me so sadly That my anger straightway died And so it was that later As the miller told his tale That her face at first just ghostly Turned a whiter shade of pale Songwriters: Gary Brooker / Keith Reid / Matthew Fisher © Onward Music Limited, T.R.O. I CAN SEE C. von Sneidern Seen your share of everything No one can tell you anything You’ve seen it all- all before Dropped a name or two before the elevator closed the door and dropped a clue- two more! All in such a short amount of time and all without a doubt inside your mind I can see You will be in the finest of company I will be far enough in the dark to get over me A few of these and more of those and now you won’t take off your clothes I’ve heard it all- all before Clandestine afternoon with someone smart enough to know the tune and sing along too well All in such a short amount of time and all without a doubt inside your mind I can see (You can see) You will be in the finest of company I will be (You will be) far enough in the dark to get over me Leaving alone will remind you Sure enough you’ll get by too All the things you said won’t do any good now for yourself You take a hint from Heloise don’t put your honey in with bees and lie around Oh please The rest is history you leave the rest to probability and still look back on me All in such a short amount of time and all without a doubt inside your mind I can see You will be in the finest of company I will be here to see enough now to get over you I can see you will find in the middle of leaving me

Four Fifty-One C. von Sneidern In the beginning before the sun would go down The circle spins while pieces fall to the ground A dream creates the darkest semblance of thought then someone rattles my door, oh! ch: She's twenty-five; A cartoon magazine of your mind, girl I'm ninety-five; I speak but can't remember my lines now She's thirty-three with a mind to swinging in time on the vine, girl One hundred three; the colors glow in the heat of the blood flow Two hundred twelve; I'm boiling tea and meeting my wife, girl Four fifty-one; who set the fire that died in the night, girl? In between the time that I came and you went I forgot to read the little note you had sent "Four scones and seven cups of joe," writ as read Our founding fathers should have stayed in bed chorus The planet spun but slowly groans to a halt "We're very sorry, sir," she said, "it's your fault." and in the end a sleeping cat in the sun has better dreams than anyone

Got A Way With Her C. von Sneidern I got a way with her Didn’t leave, but I showed her how with a whisper I can talk so loud now she don’t even care Took the day off to walk around, for a different view first the clouds, then exploding sky as if i’d disappeared I ran away from her didn’t know how to say to her close to heart but so far from words as if I didn’t care Just thought I could stay with her and in time make a place for her she patiently waited out for me and now i wish i was there i had a way with her, but i wished she could stand alone, strong on her own the dream she believed somehow, has become mine now and somebody else got away with her, one who cared to see even more I wonder if she’s better now Some say that she’s better now and that I’ll get over her as if I didn’t care Sometimes I get my jealous frown and think of ways I could take her down and make it all better now but I won’t even dare

WALKING ENDLESSLY Why can’t I think of the last time I grew Why did I forget all of my youth Why do I spend every day with you Walking Endlessly, I can’t get out... Of this house where I have stayed Every day means more as I look back ‘cause I still think of unresolving past Walking Endlessly, walking endlessly I don’t think I can brave another mile walking endlessly I see I can’t get out, get out, get out... Of this mind that I can’t make The longest road’s the one I always take Have I set myself up for the breakdown Walking Endlessly, walking endlessly an absolutely horrible design walking endlessly I see I can’t get out, get out, get out, get out, get me out

CARRY ON! C. von Sneidern The first one is free, the others take all you got You'll hang from a tree and I get to see them cut you down A time to have fun, for you to fall on your face I resign to the side and I get to see you fade away and knock the things I say One day when this all has past When I put my mind to rest Then I'll see what we have done but for now, you carry on Pull me up by my heels stare into the mirror there I'm looking at you and I get to see myself break down while everything's still around I know it's a lonely erosion when you can't do what you want So go down a road to the place where the only direction is out The last word is free let's agree to disagree wouldn't you like to be one I get to see go all the way without the chance to say, "Carry on!"
